Automation Engineering
Control systems engineered, delivered and supported
In short
Wartens provides PLC, HMI and SCADA engineering in the UK, led by water and wastewater controls for treatment works and networks, plus Made Smarter-ready projects for SME manufacturers, legacy migration such as Siemens S7-300 to S7-1500, and robot cell programming. Software is written in platforms including TIA Portal and Studio 5000 and commissioned by the client's team or a local partner with Wartens engineers joining remotely.
Wartens was founded in Bangalore in 2013 and has delivered industrial automation projects since 2016, more than 100 of them worldwide. We design and program PLC and SCADA systems, integrate robot cells, modernise legacy controls and deliver turnkey projects.
Engineering is done in our India centre. You review and test the result remotely, and commissioning is carried out by your team or a local partner with our engineers joining remotely, or on site in India.

What we offer
What we engineer
PLC and controls engineering
PLC, HMI and safety software in Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, Beckhoff TwinCAT and CODESYS, written to IEC 61131-3.
SCADA and data capture
SCADA and HMI development, including Ignition, with data capture from machines, lines and remote sites.
Legacy modernisation
Migration of ageing PLC and SCADA platforms, such as Siemens S7-300/400 to S7-1500, with test documentation and minimal downtime.
Robot cell programming
Robot and cobot cell programming, offline simulation and PLC-robot interlocking.
Predictive maintenance and IIoT
Sensors, connectivity and analytics that flag problems before they stop production.
Turnkey projects
Design through commissioning and support. Delivered on site in India; elsewhere, commissioning by your team or a local partner with our engineers joining remotely.
How we deliver
One Wartens contact in your country and engineering in our India centre. You can buy a fixed-price work package, a monthly engineering capacity retainer or, in India, a turnkey project.

Questions we're asked
Yes. Water and wastewater controls are Wartens' lead UK offer: PLC, SCADA and telemetry engineering, legacy control upgrades and documentation for treatment works and networks, for water companies and their tier-one contractors. Wartens works to each water company's own engineering standards.
Yes. Wartens migrates legacy platforms such as Siemens S7-300/400 to S7-1500 in TIA Portal, including HMI migration and test documentation, with minimal downtime.
Siemens TIA Portal and S7-1500, Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, Beckhoff TwinCAT and CODESYS among others, programmed to IEC 61131-3, plus SCADA and HMI development including Ignition. Engineers are trained across many PLC brands, including Mitsubishi, Delta, ABB and Schneider Electric, so existing UK installed bases can usually be supported.
UK projects are engineered in Wartens' India centre, then accepted remotely by you. Commissioning is carried out by your own team or a local partner, with Wartens engineers joining remotely, followed by documentation, training and ongoing support.
