2. Visiting the website (server logs)

Our server records your IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser and operating system, and the referring page, to deliver and secure the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Logs are deleted after 14 days unless needed to investigate a specific security incident.

3. Country detection

To show the right country site, our server looks up the country associated with your IP address in a database held on our own server. Your IP address is not sent to third parties for this, and the result is not stored (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. Country and language cookie

If you choose a country or language, we store that choice in the "wartens_site" cookie for 12 months, and your cookie decision in the "wartens_consent" cookie for 6 months. This is strictly necessary to provide a service you explicitly requested (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). See our Cookie Policy.

5. Enquiries

When you contact us by form, email or phone, we process your name, email, phone number and company if given, and your message, to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f)). We delete the data when it is no longer needed and no statutory retention duty applies.

6. Job applications

We process application documents to run the recruitment process (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and delete them no later than six months after an unsuccessful process, unless you consent to longer storage.

Embedded videos

Some articles include YouTube videos. They load only after you allow external media in the cookie banner or click Play video. Google then receives your IP address and may set cookies; our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time under Cookie settings. See Google's privacy policy.

7. No analytics or advertising

We do not use analytics, advertising or social-media tracking. Fonts and images are served from our own server; visiting the site does not connect you to Google Fonts or other third parties.

8. Recipients

  • Hosting and email providers acting as processors under Art. 28 GDPR;
  • Wartens group companies in the UK, the UAE, the US and India where your enquiry concerns their services;
  • Advisers, insurers and authorities where necessary or legally required.

9. Transfers outside the EU

Wartens Ltd is based in the United Kingdom, which benefits from an EU adequacy decision renewed in December 2025 until 27 December 2031. Transfers to other third countries take place only with appropriate safeguards, in particular the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

10. Your rights

You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability (Arts. 15–18 and 20 GDPR), and may withdraw consent at any time. Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. Email info@wartens.com.

11. Right to complain

You may complain to a data protection authority. For our Bavarian office this is in particular the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, www.lda.bayern.de.

12. No automated decision-making

We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
